About Monique
Monique Chelin is a Brisbane-basedsustainability consultant and board director. She founded MJC Sustainability, which advises mining and infrastructure organisations on ESG risk, and she is agraduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She began her career in South Africa, where she spent more than 20 years with the Iscor Mining group. She later held an associate director role at PwC, working on sustainability strategy, climate risk and environmental performance. She also founded TheGreenShop, an eco-luxury retail brand built on circularity and ethical sourcing. Her consulting work has taken her across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, largely on capital projects where environmental and social risk sits alongside the engineering.
Monique has been an Ambassador for Opportunity International Australia since 2009.
